A nostalgic, underground medieval night.
Center, Leof. Andrea Siggrou 364, Kallithea 176 74, Greece
Inspired by the archetypal medieval story of Tristan, associated with King Arthur and the Holy Grail, this performance contrasts medieval music played on period instruments with electronics and contemporary compositions. The program features works by Bernart de Ventadorn and Guillaume de Machaut, alongside a polyphonic piece from the 13th-century Bamberg Codex and French and Scandinavian traditional music. It also includes a new commission for medieval ensemble and electronics by composer Thanos Polymeneas-Liontiris.
