The Byzantine Music Days festival, curated by Zaharias Karounis, presents a four-day cultural pilgrimage through the world of Byzantine music. This specific event focuses on the Divine Liturgy, the heart of Orthodox worship, featuring chants that highlight the deep connection between speech, melody, and worship practices. The programme includes hymns from the Paraklesis and Salutations services dedicated to the Virgin Mary, performed by various celebrated choirs. The festival serves as a meeting ground for contemporary psaltic art and the vibrant Greek musical tradition, aiming to bring these sacred sounds to a broader audience.
