A raw classical night.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic presents a performance centered on Rachmaninoff’s Third Piano Concerto, a work renowned for its immense technical difficulty and emotional depth. Soloist Francesco Piemontesi joins conductor Joana Mallwitz to perform this masterpiece. The program also includes Kodály’s Dances of Galánta, inspired by Hungarian folk melodies, and Hindemith’s Mathis der Maler Symphony, which explores the role of the artist in society. This Casual Friday event features a shorter concert format without an intermission, followed by a talk with the performers and an after-party with musicians and beer tastings.
