Composer and conductor Joe Hisaishi leads the Concertgebouworkest in a selection of his highly acclaimed film music. The program features scores from legendary Studio Ghibli films such as Spirited Away, Ponyo, and Howl’s Moving Castle, accompanied by film clips on the big screen. The concert also includes music from his celebrated collaborations with director Takeshi Kitano, such as Hana-bi and Kids Return. This performance marks a first as Hisaishi conducts the Concertgebouworkest himself, appearing as both conductor and pianist for an enchanting live experience of his iconic cinematic works.
