Gustavo Gimeno leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a program celebrating his Hispanic heritage and the works of French composer Maurice Ravel. The concert features Venezuelan trumpet virtuoso Pacho Flores performing Gabriela Ortiz’s Altar de Bronce, a concerto written specifically for him that blends tension, drama, and improvisational dance rhythms. The performance also includes Ravel’s dream-like Daphnis et Chloé and Rapsodie espagnole, alongside the bewitching flamenco flair of Falla’s El amor brujo.
