A raw classical night.
Conducted by Klaus Mäkelä and Olha Dondyk, the closing concert of the Orchestre de Paris Summer Academy features two deeply spiritual works. Forty-five young musicians from around the world perform alongside professional members of the Orchestre de Paris in this immersive educational programme. The repertoire explores the human condition through Arthur Honegger’s Symphony no. 3 'Liturgique', a powerful mid-20th-century work depicting the struggle against barbarism, and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Symphony no. 3 'Organ Symphony'. In the latter, the organ provides a majestic, spiritual colour to the orchestral texture, reflecting a radiant demonstration of compositional skill.
