The program opens with the quintessential Viennese waltz, The Blue Danube, before exploring the surprising freedom and sublime sweetness of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with soloist Seong-Jin Cho. The evening concludes with Dvořák's Symphony No. 8, a serene hymn to nature that balances the influences of Brahms and Tchaikovsky with the spirit of folk dance.
