A major event featuring Martha Argerich and Maxim Vengerov performing Beethoven's complete sonatas for violin and piano. This first of three evenings focuses on Sonatas No. 1 and No. 3, dedicated to Salieri, and culminates in the famous Ninth Sonata, the "Kreutzer". Written between 1796 and 1812, these works highlight the technical and expressive range of both instruments, from Mozartian clarity to the remarkable sound invention found in the Kreutzer's variations.
