I am currently sitting on the hood of my car on the 10 freeway in Los Angeles where traffic has been stopped for two hours because of an accident. I watched all of Quantum of Solace on my phone, the way Marc Forster intended. We have not moved yet. Genuinely curious as to whether I will be able to finish Spectre before we move.The theme song for this movie is very representative of the whole thing! The pieces are there and it sounds exciting enough but damn it really doesn’t… hit the marks right? I dunno. With the song, I think it’s poorly produced (like I know better than Jack White) but with the movie I know it’s largely due to the 2008 writer’s strike. The first 30 min have always been very memorable to me, as is the sad ending which I’d always misremembered as being part of Casino Royale (probably because I couldn’t remember anything else!)There’s one one-liner near the end of the movie where Bond jumps down on a car and screams YOU AND I HAD A MUTUAL FRIEND before immediately shooting the man in the face and it’s the funniest moment in all of Craig’s movies.
