A nostalgic classical night.
Gustavo Dudamel returns to Paris as the music and artistic director of the New York Philharmonic. This inaugural Parisian concert features Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, a monumental work whose Adagietto is famously associated with Visconti’s film Death in Venice. The program also includes the French premiere of a new work by Tania León, the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer. Dudamel leads the oldest American symphony orchestra, following in the footsteps of legendary figures like Leonard Bernstein and Mahler himself.
