A nostalgic, raw minimalism night.
Three major American minimalists celebrate significant milestones this season: Philip Glass and Steve Reich turn 90, while John Adams reaches 80. Pianist Ralph van Raat, a specialist in their repertoire, has curated a diverse celebratory program. The evening features solo piano works by Glass and Reich, alongside John Adams' violin and piano duo Road Movies performed with Rosanne Philippens. Soprano Laura Bohn also performs celebrated arias from the operas that launched Adams' career. The program includes Reich's Piano Counterpoint, a reworking of Six Pianos, and a selection of Glass' lyrical Etudes.
