A homegrown, underground contemporary classical night.
The Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera opens its doors to the younger generation by presenting three exceptionally young soloists who are already shaping their artistic identities. As part of the Contemporary Music Days festival curated by Ioannis Angelakis, the performers will measure themselves against emblematic works from the classical and contemporary piano repertoire. The program features Thodoris Filippopoulos performing a work by Philippos Tsalahouris; Michael-Efthymios Chalkias performing a piece by Costas Tsougras; and Christos Kaklamanis presenting a work by Minas Borboudakis, as well as a debut performance of one of his own piano sonatas. The recital includes works by Franz Liszt, J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, and Joseph Haydn, mapping contemporary musical creation alongside historical touchstones.
