The New School hosts the 2026 Festival of New Trumpet Music Award of Recognition ceremony honoring jazz trumpeter, composer, and educator Ahmed Abdullah. Following the ceremony, Abdullah leads a public masterclass and lecture-demonstration exploring Sun Ra's music and its potential for spiritual empowerment.
