An underground, gritty jazz night.
Sarost is a trio comprising Mark Sanders, Paul Rogers and Larry Stabbins. Tonight, they celebrate the release of their new album on Ogun Records, The Granite Variations. These three veteran, virtuoso improvisors have worked together in various combinations for over 40 years, shaping the British Free Jazz and Improv scene. Saxophonist Larry Stabbins has worked at the cutting edge of European Jazz with figures like Mike Westbrook and Keith Tippett, and in projects ranging from the pop group Weekend to the quartet 137. Paul Rogers plays a custom 7-string bass of his own design and has a 40-year legacy in the European and US improvised music scenes. Drummer and percussionist Mark Sanders has played with renowned musicians worldwide, appearing on over 200 releases.
