This one-hour programme pairs two of the best-loved works of the Baroque era: Handel’s Overture from Messiah and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. The concert culminates in Vivaldi’s masterpiece, where each concerto depicts a different season, evoking musical scenes from birdsong and harvest celebrations to summer storms and winter ice. London Concertante performs in an intimate and ethereal atmosphere created by the warm glow of candlelight in historic spaces.
