An underground, nostalgic classical piano night.
A concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of György Kurtág, one of the most significant postwar composers. The programme features the iconic cycle 'Játékok' (Games), specifically the miniatures for solo piano, four hands, and two pianos titled 'Flowers We Are...'. The evening also includes Johann Sebastian Bach's chorale transcriptions and a new commission by Greek composer Kostas Zisimopoulos, which engages in a dialogue with Kurtág's fragile and allusive musical world. The event is part of the 'Contemporary Music Days' festival curated by Ioannis Angelakis.
