An underground, nostalgic free jazz night.
Transylvanian Dance is an immersive concert performance inspired by Béla Bartók's field recordings in Transylvania. Pianist Lucian Ban and violist Mat Maneri transform century-old folk songs into contemporary music through improvisation, accompanied by video projections of rare archival film footage, Bartók's photographs, manuscripts, and Edison wax-cylinder recordings.
