Experience the London Philharmonic Orchestra at full throttle in a program exploring folk music as raw, untamed energy. Guest conductor Cristian Măcelaru leads the ensemble through two supercharged showpieces: Ligeti’s irrespressible Concert Românesc and Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra. The evening also features Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto, a work packing a knockout punch, performed by the acclaimed soloist Zlatomir Fung.
