A nostalgic classical night.
Anne-Sophie Mutter, a central figure in the violin world for over forty years, performs Brahms' famous Violin Concerto. This pillar of her repertoire, which she famously recorded with Karajan, is known for its architectural interpretation and generous sound. The program also features Schubert's Symphony No. 9, "The Great," a work Mendelssohn revealed to the world years after the composer's death and which Schumann praised as a pinnacle of instrumental music.
