The City Is Coming to Erase It All is Fink’s ninth studio album, following 2024’s Beauty In Your Wake. Recorded in Zennor, Cornwall, the album was made with a strict era-specific approach, imagining a record Michael Chapman might have made in 1974. Singer Fin Greenall explains that while the work has a vintage ethos, it seeks to create something new for curious listeners. Touring remains a primary compulsion for the band, driven by an overwhelming need to perform new material. The album is designed as a cohesive story, from the opening greeting to the instrumental conclusion. It is a record for those who find joy in the hunger for discovery and the traditional form of the album.
