Mezzo-soprano Alice Coote and pianist Sergey Rybin present a program titled 'If Only I Could Hold You All...', exploring the deep spiritual and emotional connections in the music of Tchaikovsky and Mahler. Despite their cultural differences, both composers championed each other's work, creating music that addresses universal human fragility and humanity. The performance features a selection of Tchaikovsky's romances alongside Mahler’s Rückert Lieder and Urlicht from Des Knaben Wunderhorn.
