A nostalgic classical crossover night.
The Paris Mozart Orchestra, dedicated to promoting the role of women in the arts, presents a program honoring George Sand. The evening explores the literary figure's deep connections with musicians, particularly Pauline Viardot. The performance features Viardot's orchestrated melodies, including rare transcriptions of Chopin mazurkas, alongside Beethoven's "Pastoral" Symphony, a work Sand greatly admired. The program, conducted by Claire Gibault and a 2026 La Maestra competition laureate, also includes the world premiere of Philippe Macé's "Reflets du Berry."
