Sakari Oramo and the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus present a program exploring the primal energy of spring and pagan myth. The performance features Felix Mendelssohn's retelling of German myth in The First Walpurgisnacht, alongside Anders Hillborg's imaginative new viola concerto performed by Lawrence Power. The evening concludes with Igor Stravinsky's explosive and rhythmically untamed ballet, The Rite of Spring.
