A nostalgic, slow-burn choral night.
To mark the 300th anniversary of the first performance of this astounding work, the St Marylebone Festival joins forces with the renowned Trinity Boys Choir to perform Bach's St Matthew Passion. This monumental work requires three choirs, two orchestras, soloists, and an Evangelist who leads the telling of the Passion story, and contains some of Bach's most sublime and moving music. Nicholas Mulroy is regarded as the preeminent Evangelist of his generation and joins a line-up of stellar soloists under the baton of festival music director Bertie Baigent to bring this magnificent and profound composition to life. St Marylebone's own Junior Choir will also make their festival debut as part of this concert.
