Originally from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2006, Punch Brothers are an ensemble known for combining traditional bluegrass instrumentation with the structures of modern classical music. Their work often explores progressive bluegrass themes, as seen in their debut suite "The Blind Leaving the Blind" and the alcoholic-remedy-inspired follow-up "Antifogmatic." The band's third release, "Who’s Feeling Young Now?", introduced indie rock elements and more accessible songwriting, while maintaining their signature complexity. Known for their intricate performance style, the group has been the subject of the documentary "How to Grow a Band," which tracked their early years and evolution.
