A nostalgic, danceable dabke night.
Beirut Groove Collective (BGC) brings their cult all-vinyl clubnight to the Barbican's ClubStage. Expect a selection of obscure records and underground club sounds from Beirut, the SWANA region, and beyond. Now in its 16th year, the London-based collective of DJs and crate diggers focuses on underground club cultures from the 1960s to the 1980s. Led by Ernesto Chahoud and Natalie Shooter, their sets move through 80s Arabic pop, African funk, bellydance, Lebanese disco, Anatolian rock, and Ethiopian and Sudanese jazz and psychedelia.
