Slowie is an undisputed heavyweight of Bristol’s grime & dubstep scene, stretching all the way back to early Sidewinder appearances in the noughties. After a break to focus on family life, he returned to music in 2015, quickly building up a formidable discography. This includes releases on esteemed labels such as SWAMP81, Wheel & Deal, Deep Dark & Dangerous, Durkle Disco, and his own DeeOh7 imprint (where he’s often showed a deeper, more introspective side to his writing), and collaborating with the likes of Coki, Lamont, Hypho & Unkey along the way. His association with Marcus Nasty’s Nasty Bros team has also seen Bristol’s ‘Reload King’ tearing up radio sets, with electrifying appearances on BBC Radio 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Kiss FM, SWU.FM, Flex FM, Reprezent Radio & Pyro Radio. His steady work rate and consistent output have earned him nationwide club and festival bookings, taking in the likes of Glastonbury, Boomtown, Love Saves The Day, Grime Originals, NASS, Westfest, Eskimo Dance, and Garage Nation. Slowie’s 2022 work with Canadian Dubstep producers Coltcuts, Mythm and Abstrakt Sonance had massive reactions at Shambhala Festival and Northern Bass. His recent Wheel & Deal releases with Unkey have also landed him consecutive Number 1 releases on Duploc and Juno Download’s Dubstep charts. Slowie’s punchline heavy, unashamedly West Country style, and sharp lyricism have stand him out as a unique voice in Dubstep & Grime, in his hometown and now far beyond.
