An underground, raw experimental artist.
Consisting of former ’80s-style drummer Simon Cop and photographer/writer Linda Stolpe Margenberg, Orca Eroticae is an experimental electronic musical project based in Helsingborg, Sweden. In their earliest work, Orca Eroticae used stripped-down instrumentation and recording techniques which often resembled performance art more than music per se. The album ”Chronicle of New Acquisitions” was recorded using a drum kit, a theremin and text-to-speech voice, creating an impenetrable but equally rewarding aesthetic universe. The track ”From Service to Deco” marked a new direction as a synthesizer was added to the setup. This allowed for more seductive rhythms and soundscapes, a concept further developed and refined on the 22-minute EP ”Lost-Hour-Wanting”. Originally written for a live set, the composition is a structure of micro-variations that takes shape around an enduring, minimalistic theme, oscillating, layering.
Orca Eroticae creates experimental electronic music, often incorporating industrial rhythms, theremin, and synthetic voice generation, as heard on their EP "Lost-Hour-Wanting."
Orca Eroticae is a duo consisting of Simon Cop, who handles drums and electronics, and Linda Margenberg, who contributes theremin, percussion, and vocals.
