Charl zingt Shaffy at De Doelen Rotterdam

A tribute to Ramses Shaffy, performed by Charl Delemarre Award-winning singer-songwriter Charl Delemarre—recipient of several honors, including the Grote Prijs van Nederland—is known for his passionate and personal music. Alongside performing his own songs, he pays tribute to the legendary Dutch composer, songwriter and actor Ramses Shaffy. For many, Ramses Shaffy needs no introduction. His iconic songs such as “Laat Me,” “Sammy,” and “Zing, Vecht, Huil, Bid, Lach, Werk En Bewonder” are etched into the collective memory. In 2009, Ramses gave his final public performance in Rotterdam. Shortly afterward, he passed away at the age of 76. Charl Delemarre is determined not to let Ramses’ repertoire fade into obscurity and gives Shaffy’s work a distinctive and heartfelt interpretation. He seamlessly weaves stories about Shaffy’s life together with his own experiences through Ramses’ music, while also performing a few of his own songs. Charl has appeared several times on De Wereld Draait Door and toured with artists such as De Dijk and Guus Meeuwis. His most recently released album is titled Paradijs. He can also be seen on the TV program The Tribute: Battle of the Bands on SBS6. Together with a band of much-loved guests from the music industry, Charl promises an unforgettable Sunday morning.
