A nostalgic, mainstream alternative rock night.
Billy Corgan comes to De Doelen for special performances celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. The Smashing Pumpkins frontman and songwriter has reworked the landmark 1990s album as a large-scale orchestral production. Corgan performs the new interpretation with a live orchestra and choir, bringing around 100 musicians together on stage. The familiar songs are given a broader, more cinematic setting while keeping the ambition and emotional weight that made the original album so influential. This is less a standard rock concert and more a full concert-hall reimagining of one of alternative rock’s defining records.
