Dizzy’s Club celebrates trumpet legend Dizzy Gillespie with a joyful birthday tribute led by one of his most dazzling protégés, Jon Faddis. A longtime standard-bearer of Dizzy’s legacy, Faddis brings his brilliant high-register command, deep feel for bebop, and infectious stage energy to a handpicked band exploring Gillespie favorites including “A Night in Tunisia,” “Groovin’ High,” and “Manteca.” Expect blazing trumpet work, hard-swinging interplay, Afro-Cuban fire, and the humor, virtuosity, and rhythmic spark that made Dizzy one of jazz’s most beloved innovators.
