An underground jazz night.
A collaboration between trumpet virtuoso Alexandra Ridout and pianist Fabrice Tarel. Alexandra Ridout, a BBC Young Musician winner now based in New York, brings a bold tone and fearless phrasing to the stage. Her improvisations blend into the poetic and lyrical compositions of Fabrice Tarel. The quartet is completed by double-bass player Ewan Hastie and drummer James Maddren. The evening features two sets of music exploring the boundaries of jazz, from blues origins to avant-garde frontiers.
