A nostalgic classical night.
Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3, written as he confronted worsening hearing loss, marks a turning point where his darker and bolder voice began to emerge from Mozart's influence. Kristian Bezuidenhout joins the London Mozart Players for this landmark work. Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4, known as the ‘Italian’, offers a contrasting musical postcard of Southern Europe. Inspired by his grand tour of Italy, the composition is filled with dance and folk references. The programme also features Emilie Mayer’s Overture No. 2.
