An underground, slow-burn classical night.
A performance exploring the intersection of language and sound, featuring works by György Kurtág, György Ligeti, and Ismini Beck. The program deconstructs speech into vocal gestures and sonic energy, ranging from surreal theatricality to extreme minimalism. Highlights include the world premiere of Ismini Beck’s commissioned work, 'Building Through Fragments', performed by the Ergon Ensemble. The production is part of the Contemporary Music Days festival at the GNO Alternative Stage, curated by Ioannis Angelakis. It pays tribute to the anniversaries of iconic composers Kurtág, Ligeti, and Aperghis, bringing their emblematic works into dialogue with new commissions.
