Alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins is a rising star in the international jazz world. After his acclaimed 2020 Blue Note debut Omega, he has continued to receive glowing reviews for his expressive playing style, consistently topping DownBeat magazine's annual rankings. Wilkins draws inspiration from visual arts and film for his music. His album Blues Blood features collaborations with vocalists like Cécile McLorin Salvant and Chris Dave, under the production of Meshell Ndegeocello. His quartet is currently in top form, as evidenced by a recent three-hour live recording at New York's Village Vanguard, showcasing endless, high-energy solos.
