A nostalgic classical night.
Under the baton of Franz Welser-Möst, the Cleveland Orchestra performs a programme featuring works by Shostakovich and Strauss. Soprano Golda Schultz joins the ensemble for Strauss's Four Last Songs. The performance also features Shostakovich's Symphony No. 8, a work written in 1943 that explores the internal climate of a human being affected by war. This concert marks a continuation of the long-standing collaboration between Welser-Möst and the orchestra, which has been widely praised for its excellence on international stages.
