Built to Spill is an influential American indie rock band formed in Boise, Idaho, by guitarist and vocalist Doug Martsch. Known for their intricate guitar layering and melodic, introspective songwriting, the group has become a staple of the alternative rock scene since the early 1990s. Their sound often incorporates elements of pop-inflected rock with sprawling, progressive guitar jams.
