A raw chamber music night.
The National Youth Orchestra, led by Christoph Altstaedt, presents a program of intensity and contrast. Violinist Liza Ferschtman performs Shostakovich’s First Violin Concerto, a work of lyricism and tension. The evening opens with Britten’s poignant Russian Funeral and concludes with the powerful energy of Prokofiev’s Fifth Symphony, performed by a new generation of musicians.
