Award-winning saxophonist and composer James Brandon Lewis, a Jazz Generations Initiative (JGI) Continuum Fellow, presents a three-night residency at Roulette. This specific evening's performance features a series of solo sets by a diverse group of improvisers, poets, and multidisciplinary artists across media and generations. The night concludes with a collective improvisation involving all the participating artists. Lewis is recognized as a leading figure in the New York improvised music scene, blending his background in gospel and jazz with influences from classical music, hip-hop, and punk. His work frequently incorporates extramusical research and multi-medium collaborations.
