Designed by Zahia Ziouani, this concert uses music and words to highlight the long journey toward freedom and equality. From early Black classical composers like the Chevalier de Saint-George and Florence Price to iconic voices of jazz and soul like Nina Simone, the program celebrates dignity, resistance, and hope. Musical works by William Grant Still and others are interwoven with poignant texts and speeches from figures such as Martin Luther King, Maya Angelou, Maryse Condé, and Olympe de Gouges, creating a vibrant narrative from the 18th century to the energy of modern jazz.
