As part of the open-air concert series Soundscapes in the Garden at the Neue Nationalgalerie, this evening features performances by Hildur Guðnadóttir, Sam Slater, and Slauson Malone 1. Hildur Guðnadóttir, an Oscar and Grammy-winning cellist and composer, is celebrated for her intense, cinematic scores that explore themes of cosmic terror through extreme minimalism. She is joined by producer Sam Slater, whose electronic work involves the manipulation of field recordings and acoustic instruments. Slauson Malone 1 provides a genre-fluid contrast, performing complex, cut-and-paste musical collages that blend fractured jazz, punk, and soulful melodies.
