The BBC Symphony Orchestra welcomes back the astonishing pianist Yeol Eum Son for a performance of Rachmaninov's mighty Third Piano Concerto. Conductor Joshua Weilerstein leads a program inspired by the themes of war and revolution, featuring Ravel's chaotic waltz La Valse, Osvaldo Golijov's Last Round, and Erwin Schulhoff's fierce interwar pieces. This concert promises powerful storytelling through some of the most challenging and evocative works of the romantic and modern eras.
