The organizers behind Berlin's DIY concert scene are often active musicians themselves. Driven by enthusiasm and a desire to take initiative, they build structures and shape culture, usually under precarious conditions. The Frictive Frequencies concert series highlights these cultural activists who typically work in the background. Over the years, they have developed remarkable artistic expressions but have often stepped back to focus on organizing. This series puts their artistic side at the forefront. Frictive Frequencies serves as a forum for improvised music and a space for exchanging DIY practices. Invited guests present their unique sound languages and share their artistic and organizational experiences in short talks.
