An underground spoken word night.
Catherine Sikora's saxophone playing is characterized by melodic agility and a wide range of timbres. Her phrasing reflects the many musical and cultural influences with which the Irish jazz musician shapes her sound narratives. US blues and jazz singer Eric Mingus has long stepped out of his father's shadow. The youngest son of Charles Mingus possesses a strong musical presence and depth. As a duo, Sikora and Mingus create improvised dialogues between intimacy and ecstasy. Pianist Isabel Anders' improvisations are like voyages of discovery, moving forward tentatively. Lázara Rosell Albear produces dense textures and shimmering trills on her mini trumpet, while her drumming is characterized by sparse accents and interwoven cymbals. Anders and Albear have tested their dynamic magnetism in various constellations, with an immediate understanding between them.
