
Cluj-Napoca: Obscura, Suicidal Angels si Sadist
Obscura are a name already known on the progressive death metal scene. From 2002 until now, the German band has released 7 studio albums, the most recent, 'A Sonication', being offered to fans this year, on February 7. Obscura is known for complex musical passages, due to the fact that the band members studied music theory. The band quickly attracted attention, just 4 years after its formation, going on tour with Suffocation through Europe. Concerts followed in the United States and Asia with Nile and Triptykon, as well as appearances on the stages of major European festivals such as Brutal Assault, Graspop Metal Meeting or Summer Breeze. Suicidal Angels come from Greece, Athens. With activity started in 2001, the band has released eight studio albums so far. They approach classic Thrash Metal, and the favorite lyrical themes deal with misanthropy, religion, or death. Gradually they became an important name on the Thrash scene, supporting tours with bands such as Kreator, Exodus, or Overkill. Sadist come from Genoa, Italy, and started their activity in 1991. They approach Death Metal with Progressive influences at times, an aspect that can be observed in the 10 studio albums released. They toured Europe with bands such as Samael or Carcass but also took to the stages of festivals such as Wacken or Highland Metalfest.
