A nostalgic, slow-burn classical night.
RPO Music Director Vasily Petrenko leads the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Philharmonia Chorus in a performance of Mahler's Symphony no. 2, known as the 'Resurrection' Symphony. This epic work, following a grieving man's journey to the afterlife, is paired with Arvo Pärt's haunting Kanon Pokajanen. Featuring soloists Miah Persson and Beth Taylor, the concert is designed to take full advantage of the Royal Albert Hall's scale and acoustics. Note that this performance is presented without an interval.
