An underground neoclassical night.
Australian pianist and composer Pat Jaffe brings his lyrical melodies and expansive chamber-jazz soundscapes to London. He is touring music from his new album LUNSEN, which draws inspiration from the Swedish forest landscape to combine tranquil beauty with untamed wildness. For this performance, Jaffe has assembled a band of Australian expatriates, including rising trumpeter Audrey Powne. Jaffe is a previous winner of the Allan Zavod Performers’ Award and has collaborated with artists such as Nai Palm and Markéta Irglová. His music is noted for blending elements of jazz, modern classical, and minimalist pianism.
