Kein Mensch hat so viel Geld für Deutsche Bahn Tickets…
It’s a sweet and heartfelt story about an autistic boy named Jason slowly forming a genuine connection with his father when he promises his son to visit every stadium of every professional football club in Germany to figure out his favourite football club. Of course, Jason can’t simply have the same favourite football club as his father, since he has special criteria to decide which one becomes his favourite club.Funnily enough, the first stadium they visit is the one of my favorite club, 1. FC Nürnberg. The reason he didn’t become a fan is because of the nickname it has. It’s called Der Club (The Club), and Jason says every football club could name themselves like that. In that moment, I wish I could’ve explained to him the reason behind that. The football club 1. FC Nürnberg was very successful and dominant in the 1920s, and a lot of newspapers began to only call it Der Club (The Club) because of that. It was practically considered unbeatable, as they had an unbeaten streak of 104 matches between 1918 and 1922. Anyway, that’s why it’s still a common nickname. Thank you for your attention!!!! (and sorry for my little yap)P.S. We are on a 6 game unbeaten streak right now, and the next game is tonight!! Keep your fingers crossed that the streak continues!!! 🤞🏼P.P.S. please ignore my P.S.November 2025 Ranked
The film follows a father and his ten-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum, as they embark on a journey across Germany to visit every professional football stadium in an effort to discover the boy's favorite team.
Weekend Rebels was directed by Marc Rothemund, a German filmmaker known for his work in biographical dramas.
Yes, the film is based on the book 'Wir Wochenendrebellen' by Mirco von Juterczenka, detailing his real-life experiences with his son.
