Rosebush Pruning läuft derzeit in keinem Kino.

Didn’t know that “Saltburn” is a genre now
the Berlinale valentine's special: a vulgar Lanthimos-infused try-hard Guadagnino eat-the-rich-but-also-jizz-on-their-lawn type of thing. extremely acidic magnum maximum satire that is so cold and world-weary that even the cynicism seems to be found dead in a ditch. that being said I can't be angry at a film that casts the obnoxious psycho-sexual upper class fantasies culminating in repulsive incestuous blood-blending with impending but disavowed mass trauma into a narrative mold. neat stuff. I can see why Cannes & Venice didn't want to have this barefaced, wantonly, impudent ugly duckling in their programme. Rosebush Pruning is a film celebrating the nihilism of the very end of our times already. if you give zero fucks about it all, be welcome to their wicked ree-raw. don't forget your toothbrush.
The film follows four American siblings isolated in a Spanish villa who find their family dynamic unravelling after a discovery about their mother's death.
The film was directed by Karim Aïnouz, a Brazilian filmmaker known for his work in both fiction and documentary cinema.
