Syrian oud virtuoso, singer, and ethnomusicologist Waed Bouhassoun meets the Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest. A protege of early music pioneer Jordi Savall, Bouhassoun presents a program where her virtuosic playing and vocals shine in music spanning from Granada to Baghdad. This performance is part of the sixth Ud Festival, a biennial celebration of the oud—the ancient Arabic string instrument that serves as a musical bridge between East and West, tracing its journey from Baghdad to Andalusia.
